Odi ' City Manager Recommendation: DATE J FILE Subject Resolution- Latin Quarter Review Board Appointments REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES. 74 It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution appointing two (2) members to the City of Miami Latin Quarter Review Board to fill expired terms. The new appointments will expire February 27, 1990. Background: The Planning Department services the Latin Quarter Review Board. The Latin Quarter Review Board assists the Planning Department by reviewing all proposed projects in the Latin Quarter district in excess of $10,000. Five members were appointed on April 14, 1988 (Resolution No. 88-334). However, two of these appointments were inappropriate at the time: Rodolfo Canr — nominxt— h+� Commissioner Dawkins had already served the two 7 J consecutive term limit; Raul Hernandez, nominated by Commissioner Kennedy, did not have his qualifications on file. Section 62-78 of the City Code pertaining to the Latin Quarter Review Board provides for the appointment of Board members. Pursuant to this section the City Commission must appoint members to two vacancies in two categories on the Board for approximately two (2) year terms of office. Also no member of this board can be reappointed to more than two (2) consecutive terns.
