AT A TOTAL COST OF $331,943.g2 FOR FORT DALLAS PARK PLAZA = PHASE II = 1986 C.I.P. PROJECT NO. 131035 AND AUTHORIZING A FINAL PAYMENT hF $33,196.88. WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated January 21, 1987 between the City of Miami, Florida and Ocean Bay Construction, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed by Ocean Bay Construction, Inc. and they have furnished the required documents certifying that all bills for labor and materials have been paid in full in connection with the aforesaid_ contract; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Public Works recommend that the completed work be accepted and final payment made to the contractor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OFTHE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: .Section 1 The completed. work performed by Ocean Bay Construction, Inc. for FORT DALLAS PARK PLAZA PHASE II 1986 C.I.P. Project No. 331035 is hereby accepted at a total cost of $331,943.92 is hereby approved. Section 2. The proper officials of the City of Miami are hereby authorized to pay $33,196.88 to Ocean Bay Construction, Inc. as full and final payment for all work performed and all materials furnished in connection with FORT DALLAS PARK PLAZA - PHASE II - 1986 C.I.P. We have just received word today after the agenda was printed, that unless the State of Florida receives reimbursement requests to close out the project by June 20th, 1988, the City stands to lose any unexpended balances on the grant. PORT DALLAS PARK PLAZA PHASE 11 - 1986 CIP Project No. 331035 Resolution for 1=inal Payment Cesar H, Odio Qfrf84EtiCES City Manager RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution accepting the completed work performed by ncean Bay Construction, Inc. at a total cost of $331,943.92 for FORT DALLAS PARK PLAZA - PHASE II - 1986 C.I.P. Project No. 331035 and authorizing a final payment of $33,196.88. BACKGROUND: The Department of Public Works has determined that it is now in order for the Commission to accept the completed work and authorize final payment, after all conditions are met for Fort Dallas Park Plaza - Phase II - 1986 C.I.P. Project No. 331035. Ocean Say Construction, Inc. has completed the project consisting of constructing paved plaza areas, seatwalls, benches, lighting, irrigation, water feature, and landscaping in the park located at S.E. 4 Street and S.E. 1 Avenue. The total payment to the contractor will be less than the Increase in Contract amount of $9,990.00, authorized by Resolution No. 87- 411 dated May 14, 1987 because only $5,142.92 of the increased amount was used.
