RN'-'994- A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BIDS OF STAR EQUIPMENT MANUFAC'PURING IN THE ESTiMATED AMOUNT OF $189,000.00 AND HESCO/U.S. CONTAINERS IN THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $126,300.00 FOR FURNISHING 1000 DUMNSTERS ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE (1) YEAR, AS NEEDED, TO THE DEPARTMENT OF SOLID WASTE AT A TOTAL ESTIMATED COST OF $315,300.00 ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 353UOI ACCOUNT CODE #329402-840; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received July 6, 1988 for the furnishing of 1000 Dumpsters on a contract basis for one (1) year, as needed, for the Department of Solid Waste; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to twenty two (22) potential suppliers and four (4) bid were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase will be available from the Capital Improvement Project 353001 Account Code #329402-840; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Solid Waste for the purpose of ensuring quality service delivery to those commercial accounts that are being secured and are awaiting commencement of service; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Solid Waste recommend that the bids received from Star Equipment Manufacturing and Hesco/U.S. Containers be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bids; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The July 6, 1988 bids of Star Equipment Manufacturing in the estimated amount of $189,000.00 and Hesco/U.S. Containers in the estimated amount of $126,300.00 for furnishing 1000 Dumpsters on a contract basis for one (1) year, as needed, at a total estimated amount of $315,300.00 are hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Capital Improvement Project 353001 Account Code #329402-840.
