A RESOLUTION CO -DESIGNATING NORTHWEST 5TH AVENUE FROM NORTHWEST 22ND STREET TO NORTHWEST 36TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS "FASHION AVENUE"; FURTHER. DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO ALL AFFECTED GOVERNMENT AGENCIES. WHEREAS, the Wyndwood Community Economic development Corporation has requested that the City of Miami assist in the co -designation of Northwest 5th Avenue between Northwest 22nd Street and Northwest 36th Street as "Fashion Avenue"; and WHEREAS, said co -designation has been presented to the City of Miami Plat and Street Committee; and WHEREAS, the goals and objectives of the City and those of the Wyndwood Community Economic Development Corporation have been to encourage and strengthen economic stability in the City's Design District; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Miami City Commission hereby co -designates Northwest Sth Avenue from Northwest 22nd Street to Northwest 36th Street, Miami, Florida as "Fashion Avenue". Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the United States Postal Authority, the Traffic and Transportation Section of the Metropolitan Dade County Public Works Department, the State of Florida Department of Transportation, the City of Miami Police Department and the Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services Department. BACKGROUND The Department of Public Works has reviewed a request by the Wyndwood Community Economic Development Corporation to co - designate N.W. 5 Avenue from N.W. 22 Street to N.W. 36 Street as Fashion Avenue. This request has also been presented to the City of Miami Plat and Street Committee for consideration.
