SOA-SLORIW.11 March 15, 1988 Mayor Xavier Suarez City of Miami City Hall 3500 Pan American Dr. Miami, FL 33134 Dear Mayor Suarez: t.. As firm betievera in the future of Miami, our members wish to share wictt you their concern for our image. We have all Witnessed the onslaught of auto -window washers and pan- handlers. Our City portrays an image of Calcutta. The darker side of this act are the acts of violence enacted under the ploy of the poor and downtrodden window washer. We envision the mediae glut to increase circulation at a great expense to the hardworking City personnel and citizens. Why should we allow these vagrants to plague our future and past accomplishments? Our police are seen o p t be helpless to control these acts with the curreut legislation. These people, as shown by the media, are arrested at least 60 tines per week. They are capable of serving the City possibly by cleaning the parks y' they tend to inhabit. We have no quick answers. We ask that Q you and -your staff consider thR economic and social impact on our City.x} r. Thanks for your most valued time and continued public service..
