HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-88-0800r, OUR RESOLUTION NO. 88--800 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING ORDERING RESOLUTION NO. 88-622 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR SEALED BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF N.M. 36 STREET SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT IN N.N. 36 STREET SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT SR-5549-C (CENTERLINE SEWER) WHEREAS at the City Commission meeting of July 14.1988. Resolution No. 88-622 was passed which ordered a sanitary sewer improvement identified as N.M. 36 STREET SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT in M.M. 36 STREET SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT SR-5549-C (centerline sewer); and WHEREAS, pursuant to due public notice a public hearing was held before the City Commission on September 8, 1988. as to any objections to the confirmation of Resolution No. 88-622, which resolution ordered N.M. 36 STREET SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT in N.M. 36 STREET SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT SR-5549-C (centerline sewer); and WHEREAS, no objections to the confirmation of said sanitary sewer improvement were sustained by the Commission. it is therefore in order for the Commission to confirm said ordering resolution and authorize the City Clerk to advertise for sealed bids for the construction of said improvement; NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section I. Odio City Manager RECOMMENDATION DATE: AUG 3 0 1988 ME: 8U1SJECT Resolution Confirming N.W. 36 Street Sanitary Sewer Improvement SR-5549-C REFERENCES: (For September 8, 1988 ENCLOSURES: Commission Meeting) It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution confirming the ordering resolution for N.M. 36 Street Sanitary Sewer Improvement SR-5549-C and authorizing the City Clerk to advertisefor sealed bids for construction of said improvement. BACKGROUND The* Department of Public Works, after studying the area and considering the wishes of its residents, and in a continuing effort to serve all residents of the City of Miami, is recommending the adoption of a resolution confirming the ordering resolution for N.W. 36 Street Sanitary Sewer Improvement. N.M. 36 Street Sanitary Sewer Improvement District will consist of all properties along N.W. 36 Street between N.W. 27 Avenue and N.M. 38 Avenue. The construction of this sanitary sewer improvement is part of the City of Miami's continuing program to provide sanitary sewers throughout the entire City. This district is presently served by septic tanks and drainfield installations which will be abandoned by the property owners after the new sewer system is completed. To serve this area, the Department of Public Works has designated N.M. 36 Street Sanitary Sewer Improvement in N.W. 36 Street Sanitary Sewer Improvement District SR-5549-C (centerline sewer) as an assessable improvement under Section 56 of the City Charter. Each property designated for assessment in the ordering resolution will receive a sewer service lateral to the property line. N.W. 36 Street Sanitary Sewer Improvement is included in the Ctty's 1987-93 Capital Improvement Program and will be constructed by a private contractor under contract with the City of Miami. The estimated total project cost is $1.1 million- and will be funded by Sanitary Sewer. General Obligation Bond Funds.„ The Florida Department of Transportation (F.D.O.T.) tottnds to y rebuild N.W. 36. Street in the near future. Therefore, the pr�lpgo� fl�isori sanitary sewer should be constructed by the .Cf-V of btfoy* F.D.O.T. begins reconstruction of M.W. 36 Street.
