With your assistance, and those of your colleagues in the oorrmiesion, we would like to be placed on the next Com- mission Agenda in order to obtain the same waiver of rental fees for the auditorium on November 19, 1988, for our 2nd National Conference of Police Executives. The Hispanic Police Officers Association will host the 2nd Annual National Hispanic United in Law Enforcement Conference in Miami, Florida. It will be held at the Omni Hotel November 17-20, 1988. The purpose of this conference is to unite Hispanic law enforcement officials throughout the United States and stricture the preamble and bi-laws for a national organization. The first conference focused on the sharing of information among agencies and provided a forum for an exchange of ideas of community interest and departmental concerns. It also provided national and local law - - r r Mott officials an opportunity to join forces in a cooperative spirit toward the betterment of law enforcement in our respective om munities. A total of 210 law enforoealent officials attended the event, r%zesenting departments such as Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, New Jersey, New York, San Antonio, Chicago, San Diego, and Puerto Rico. For local attendees, the program was state certified by the Florida Standards and Training Oomnis- sion. A number of local police departments were represented including Metro Dade Cavity, Miami Beach, Hialeah, North Miami, Dade County Department of Correo- tions and Rehabilitation, as well as City of Miami Police Department offi- cials and civic leaders.
