RESOLUTION NO. SN-F03
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING CERTAIN
INDIVIDUALS TO SERVE ON THE BOARD OF
THE DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
OF THE CITY OF MI AMI .
WHEREAS, the Downtown Development Authority ("DDA") Board
met on September 16, 1988 and voted to nominate the following
individuals to fill new Board positions recently created by the
City Commission:

WHEREAS, the DDA Board also voted on September 16, 1988 to
nominate Mr. Vincent McGhee to fill the unexpired term of Mr.
Pedro Palaez who resigned said term expiring June 30, 1991: and
WHEREAS, each of the above named nominees fulfills the
qualifications for Board membership pursuant to Section 14-27 of
the City Code, and each of the above named nominees has
Indicated a desire and willingness to serve on the DDA Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section I. The following individuals are hereby appointed
to the Board of Directors of the Downtown Development Authority
of the City of Miami, Florida for a term expiring June 30, 1991:

RECOMMENDATION:
it is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached
resolution appointing Phillip Blumberg, Henry Salum, Anthony
Jackson, David Rosner, Adolfo Henriques, Miguel Brazlaysky,
Rafael Kapustin, and Vincent McGhee to the Board of Directors of
the Downtown Development Authority of the City of Miami.
BACKGROUND:
The Commission has expanded the size of the DDA Board from 19 to
29 members. Two new members (Michael Kosnitzky and Jeffrey
Bercow) were appointed simultaneously with the Board expansion
leaving eight positions to be filled through recommendation from
the four Commissioners. To date the Commissioners have
recommended the following seven individuals:

Rather than wait for Vice Mayor Kennedy to suggest a second name,
the DDA Board voted to approve the names already submitted and to
forward them to the Commission for formal appointment.
After Vice Mayor Kennedy submits a second name to the DDA Board
for nomination, that nomination will be submitted to the City
Commission at the first commission meeting thereafter.

In addition to filling the new board posItIons, the DDA Board
nominated Vicent McGhee to fill the unexpired term of Pedro
Pelaez, who resigned from the DDA Board to serve on the Sports
and Exhibition Authority Board.
Each of the nominees named herein fulfills the qualifications for
Board membership pursuant to Section 14-27 of the City Code and
each has expressed a desire and willingness to serve on the
Board.
