Home My WebLink AboutR-88-0902J-88-913 9/22/88 RESOLUTION NO. 8e-902 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF OUTBOARD MARINE CORPORATION FOR THE FURNISHING OF FOUR (4) OUTBOARD MOTORS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $21,272.00 ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1988-89 FLEET MANAGEMENT DIVISION ACCOUNT CODE #420301-850; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received August 29, 1988 for the furnishing of four (4) outboard motors to the Department of General Services Administration; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to sixteen (16) potential suppliers and three (3) bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase will be available from the 1988-89 Fleet Management Division Account Code #420301-850; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of General Services Administration for the purpose of replacing defective outboard motors in police patrol vessels; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of General Services Administration recommend that the bid received from Outboard Marine Corporation be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The August 29, 1988 bid of Outboard Marine Corporation for furnishing four (4) outboard motors to the Department of General Services Administration at a total proposed cost of 21,272.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1988-89 Fleet Management Division Account Code #420301-850. BACKGROUND: The General Services Administration Department has analyzed bids received pursuant to Bid 187-88-R142, to furnish four outboard motors for use by the Police Department police patrol vessels. It is recommended that award be made to Outboard Marine Corporation, a Non -Minority vendor, as the lowest, most complete bidder in the amount of $21,272.00. Funds for this purpose are available from the 1988-89 budget of the Fleet Management Division, General Services Administration Department.
