A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE CUBAN MUNICIPALITIES FAIR TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE CUBAN MUNICIPALITIES FAIR CORPORATION ON APRIL 6-9, 1989,ON THE GROUNDS OF THE FLAGLER DOG TRACK; DECLARING THAT SAID CARNIVAL SHALL NOT BE CONSIDERED AS ONE OF THE TWO ALLOWED EVENTS PER SITE PER YEAR FOR ACTIVITIES OF THIS TYPE, CONDITIONED UPON THE ORGANIZERS PAYING FOR THE NECESSARY COSTS OF CITY SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT AND THE REQUIREMENT THAT THE CITY WILL BE INSURED AGAINST ANY POTENTIAL LIABILITY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Cuban Municipalities Fair to be conducted by The Cuban Municipalities Fair Corporation on April 6-9, 1989 on the grounds of the Flagler Dog Track shall not be counted as one 1/ of the two events allowed per site,per year,for activities of this type. Section 2. Such authorization is hereby conditioned upon the organizers obtaining insurance requirements as mandated by the City of Miami and paying for all costs of City services associated with said event. Dear Mayor and City Commissioners: The"7th Cuban Municipalities Fair" (Feria de los Municipios has been scheduled to take place from April 6th through the 9th, on the premises of the parking lot adjacent to the Flagler Dog Track, at Northwest 37th.Avenue at 7th street, Miami, and in order to proceed with the organization of this event, which has become a tradition to our community, we, hereby, request your approval for the use of such premises, and that this event not be counted as one of the two alloted events per site per year, as specified in Ordenance 9500 regarding this type of activities. The schedule for the event is as follows: Thursday, April 6th : from 6 P.M. to 11 P.M. Friday, April 7th : from 6 P.M. to 11 P.M. Saturday April 8th : from 2 P.M. to 12 Midnite Sunday April 9th : from 2 P.M. to 11 P.M. We would also appreciate your cooperation in providing us with the necessary permit for the instalation of 30 booths in the fairgrounds, including the approval of the Zoning Board for this purpose. As you are aware, the purpose of the "Feria de los Municipios" is to expose the folklore, traditions and culture of our motherland, while striving to maintain the strong family ties that are valued so high, and to promote a warmer and a closer relationship with other ethnic groups of our community. As in the past, we sincerely appreciate the dedicated assistance of the City Commission and the City Manager's Office.
