A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MARVIN ARMSTRONG TO
THE CITY OF MIAMI AUDIT ADVISORY COMMITTEE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. Marvin Armstrong is hereby appointed to the
City of Miami Audit Advisory Committee.

adopted by the City of Miami Commission at its meeting held on
November 3, 1988, appointing you to serve on the City of Miami
Audit Advisory Committee.

in connection with formal procedures to be followed on City
Commission's appointments to boards, committees, and/or
commissions.

ENCLOSURES:
It is recommended that the attached Resolution appointing Marvin
Armstrong to the City of Miami Audit Advisory Committee, be
adopted.
BACKGROUND:
Subdivision 2 of Chapter 2 of the City Code established the Audit
Advisory Committee, with functions of reviewing the City's Audit
and Management Letter; the system of internal controls and
compliance with GFOA (Government Finance Officers Association)
requirements; to review internal audit reports for possible fraud
or criminal conduct; and recommending selection of independent
auditors to the City Commission based upon review and analysis of
responses to invitations issued by the committee on behalf of the
city .
The City Code allows each member of the City Commission to
recommend one member to the Committee, subject to appointment by
the City Commission. Commissioner Dawkins is recommending Mr.
Marvin Armstrong for the vacancy created by the resignation of
Mr. Steven Goodrich.
Committee members will continue to serve until their successors
are appointed.
