A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE SELECTION OF AN
INDIVIDUAL TO FILL A VACANCY ON THE CITY OF
MIAMI AFFIRMATIVE ACTION ADVISORY BOARD, TO
SERVE A TERM ENDING JANUARY 24, 1989.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following individual is hereby confirmed
as having been selected by the Fraternal Order of Police,
Lodge 20, exclusive bargaining representative of certain sworn
police employees, as a member of the City of Miami Affirmative
Action Advisory Board, to serve a term ending January 24, 1989:

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution authorizing the confirmation of one
individual to fill a vacancy on the Affirmative Action Advisory
Board.
BACKGROUND: `
The Department of Internal Audits and Reviews requests
confirmation of Sgt. J.J. Williams to the Affirmative Action
Advisory Board. Ms. Carolyn Clarke, due to her busy work
schedule, resigned her position on the Advisory Board. Sgt. J.J.
Williams has been selected by the Fraternal Order of Police to
complete the term expiring January 24, 1989.
In accordance with administrative policy, I am notifying you of
the above so that you may appoint members to the Board as
provided for in Section I of Ordinance No. 9139.

Dear Dr. Daniels:
Please be advised that Carolyn Clarke, due to her very hectic
schedule, is requesting to step down from the City of Miami's
Affirmative Action Board. The F.O.P. is very proud of the
accomplishments made by Sister Clarke during her tenure, and
understands her need to resign from her position.
The F.O.P. is appointing Sgt. J.J. Williams to replace Carolyn
Clarke as the organization's representative to the Affirmative
Action Board. Please do all the necessary paperwork to reflect
this change.
