J-88-1059 10/5/88 RESOLUTION NO. RS-10"'. A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED WORK OF VAN TOPOLE CONSTRUCTION, INC. AT A TOTAL COST OF $25,378.50 FOR FIRE STATION NO. 2 WASHROOM MODIFICATIONS CIP PROJECT NO. 313018 AND AUTHORIZING A FINAL PAYMENT OF $1,268.93. WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated May 2, 198P between the City of Miami and Van Topole Construction, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed by Van Topole Construction, Inc. and they have furnished the required documents certifying that all bills for labor and materials have been paid in full in connection with the aforesaid contract; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the completed work be accepted and final payment made to the contractor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The completed work performed by Van Topole Construction, Inc. for FIRE STATION NO. 2 WASHROOM MODIFICATIONS C.I.P. Project No. 313018 at a total cost of $25,378.50 is hereby approved. Section 2. The proper officials of the City of Miami are hereby authorized to pay $1,268.93 to Van Topole Construction, Inc. as full and final payment for all work performed and all materials furnished in connection with FIRE STATION NO. 2 WASHROOM MODIFICATIONS C.I.P. PROJECT NO. 313018 Resolution for Final Payment It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution accepting the completed work performed by Van Topole Construction, Inc. at a total cost of $25,378.50 for FIRE STATION NO. 2 WASHROOM MODIFICATIONS, C.I.P. Project No. 313018 and authorizing a final payment of $1,268.93. BACKGROUND: The Department of Public Works has determined that it is now in order for the Commission to accept the completed work and authorize final payment, after all conditions are met for Fire Station No. 2 Washroom Modifications C.I.P. Project No. 313018. Van Topole Construction, Inc. has completed the project consisting of constructing shower and toilet facilities for women at fire station located at 1901 North Miami Avenue. The total payment to the contractor will be less than the original contract amount of $25,480.00 because not all of the Cash Allowance was used.
