A RESOLUTION ORDERING SOUTH FLAGLER
SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT SR-5540-C AND
DESIGNATING THE PROPERTY AGAINST WHICH
SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS SHALL BE MADE FOR A
PORTION OF THE COST THEREOF AS SOUTH
FLAGLER SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT SR-5540-C
WHEREAS, the properties within the area bordered by West
Flagler Street, S.W. 8 Street, S.W. 47 Avenue and S.W. 57 Avenue
are In need of sanitary sewer service; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the City of Miami is to provide
sanitary sewer service to the entire City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. A sanitary sewer Improvement identified as SOUTH
FLAGLER SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT SR-5540-C (centerline) shall
be made under the provisions of Section 56 of the Charter of the
City of Miami, as amended, located In the area bordered by West
Flagler Street, S.W. 8 Street, S.W. 47 Avenue and S.W. 57 Avenue.
Section 2. This Improvement shall consist of: Laying 8-
Inch or larger vitrified clay and/or polyvinyl chloride pipe
sanitary sewers at or near the centerline of
S.W. 1 Street from S.W. 47 Avenue to S.W. 48 Avenue
S.W. 1 Street from S.W. 51 Court to S.W. 51 Place
S.W. 1 Street from S.W. 52 Court to S.W. 52 Place
S.W. 1 Street from S.W. 53 Court to S.W. 54 Avenue
S.W. 1 Street from S.W. 55 Avenue to S.W. 57 Avenue
S.W. 2 Street from S.W. 47 Avenue to S.W. 48 Avenue
S.W. 2 Street from S.W. 52 Place to S.W. 53 Court
S.W. 2 Street from S.W. 55 Avenue to S.W. 57 Avenue
S.W. 2 Terrace from S.W. 47 Avenue to S.W. 48 Avenue

Laying six -Inch cast Iron and/or polyvinyl chloride pipe
laterals, as requllred, to the lots and parcels of land which
abut the above mentioned streets as listed In section 3 hereof.
Construction of manholes, pump stations, connections to
existing sewers, and other appurtenances, and reconstructing
street pavement, sidealks, curbs and/or gutters where such
reconstruction Is made necessary by this sewer Improvement.
Section 3. This Improvement shall be designated In all
proceedings and assessments as SOUTH FLAGLER SANITARY SEWER
IMPROVEMENT SR-5540-C (Centerline) and the property against
which special assessments shall be made for a portion of the
cost thereof, hereunder shall be designated as SOUTH FLAGLER
SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT SR-5540-C (Centerline)
with the following property descriptions by lot and block
number constituting all of the pieces of property affected by
said Improvement:

It Is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution ordering South Flagler Sanitary Sewer
Improvement SR-5540-C.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Public Works, after studying the area and
- considering the wishes of Its residents, and In a continuing effort
to serve all residents of the City of MIamI, Is recommending the
adoption of a resolution ordering South Flagler Sanitary Sewer
Improvement.
South Flagler Sanitary Sewer Improvement District will consist of
all properties In the area bordered by West Flagler Street, S.W. 8
Street, S.W. 47 Avenue and S.W. 57 Avenue. The construction of this
sanitary sewer Improvement Is part of the City of Miami's continuing
program to provide sanitary sewers throughout the entire City.
The district Is presently served by septic tanks and dralnfield
Installations which will be abandoned by the property owners after
the new sewer system Is completed.
To serve this area, the Department of Public Works has designated
South Flagler Sanitary Sewer Improvement In South Flagler Sanitary
Sewer Improvement District SR-5540-C (centerline sewer) as an
assessable Improvement under Section 56 of the City Charter. Each
property designated for assessment in the ordering resolution will
receive a sewer service lateral to the property line.
South Flagler Sanitary Sewer Improvement is Included In the City's
1987-93 Capital Improvement Program and will be constructed by a
private contractor under contract with the City of Mlaml. The
estimated total project cost Is $4.5 million and will be funded by
Sanitary Sewer General Obligation Bond Funds.
