A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF WILLI.AM FENCE COMPANY FOR THE REMOVAL OF OLD FENCE AND INSTALLATION OF NEW FENCE AT TRIANGLE AND ANTONIO MACEO PARKS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS, RECREATION AND PUBLIC FACILITIES AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $14,155.12; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS #331143 ($7,544.00) AND #331345 ($6,900.00) ACCOUNT CODE NO. 589301-860; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS SERVICE AND MATERIALS. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received August 17, 1988 for the removal of old fence, and furnishing and installation of new fence at Triangle and Antonio Maceo Parks for the Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 19 potential suppliers and ten (10) bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase will be available from the Capital Improvement Projects #331143 ($7,544.00) and #331345 ($6,900.00) Account Code No. 589301-860; and WHEREAS, this service and materials will be used by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities for the purpose of removing old fence at the Triangle Park and furnishing and installing new fencing at Triangle and Antonio Maceo Parks; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities recommend that the bid received from William Fence Company be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The August 27, 1988 bid of William Fence Company for removing old fence at Triangle Park and furnishing and installing new fencing at Triangle and Antonio Maceo Parks for the Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities at a CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF NOV 3 1988 RESOLUTION No. RFl�Sc _ 0 -"N total proposed cost of $14,155.12 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Capital Improvement Projects 331143 ($7,544.00) and No. 331345 ($6,900.00) Account Code #589301-860. Such funds are available from the Capital Improvements Program, Antonio Maceo Park Development, Project No. 331143 ($7,400) and Triangle Park Renovations, Project No. 331345 ($6,800). Background: The Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities has analyzed the ten bids submitted for the removal of existing fencing and the installation of new fencing in Triangle and General Antonio Maceo Parks. The bid of William Fence Company, a Black -owned firm, was the low bid received for Triangle Park and for General Antonio Maceo Park. William Fence Company is recommended for the award.
