A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR
HIS DESIGNEE, TO DECLARE ONE (1) SURPLUS
POLICE PATROL CAR WITH BLUE AND WHITE POLICE
PATROL MARKINGS, ONE (1) SURPLUS POLICE
PATROL LIGHT BAR, AND ONE (1) SURPLUS POLICE
PATROL SIREN AS CATEGORY "A" SURPLUS STOCK,
AND DONATING THE SAME, AFTER THE EXECUTION OF
THE APPROPRIATE RELEASE DOCUMENTS, TO "ALL
POLICE CHARITIES", A NONPROFIT CHARITABLE
ORGANIZATION; SAID EQUIPMENT TO BE USED BY
"ALL POLICE CHARITIES" TO REPRESENT THE CITY
OF MIAMI IN THE ANNUAL POLICE CHARITY DEMO
DERBY AND STOCK CAR SHIELD RACE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Police Department wishes to be
represented in the annual Police Charity Demo Derby and Stock Car
Shield Race; and
WHEREAS, "All Police Charities", a nonprofit charitable
organization, is in need of a surplus Police Patrol Automobile,
decalled Blue/White as a City of Miami Police Patrol vehicle and
fitted with a surplus Police Patrol Light Bar and a surplus
Police Patrol siren, to represent the City of Miami Police
Department in such a race; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami has surplus equipment that could
be used for just such a purpose; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission passed Motion Number 88-480 on
May 19, 1988 granting the request of Rodney Sayre, a City of
Miami Police Captain, representing "All Police Charities" for
such a donation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, be
authorized to declare one (1)) surplus City Police Patrol
Automobile, one (1) surplus Police Patrol Light Bar, and one (1)
surplus Police Patrol Siren as Category "A" Stock; as stipulated
in Section 18-51.4 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida.

Section 2. That said Category "A" surplus City Police
Patrol vehicle, light bar, and siren be donated to "All Police
Charities", a nonprofit charitable organization, after the
execution of the appropriate release documents; for the purpose
of representing the City of Miami Police Department in the annual
Police Charity Demo Derby and Stock Car Shield Race.
Section 3. That the said Category "A" surplus City Police
Patrol vehicle be affixed with City of Miami Police Patrol stripe
decals and City Seals, as necessary for it to clearly resemble a
City of Miami Police Patrol vehicle.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of November , 1988.

Automobile to "All
Police Charities"

ENCLOSURES.
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached Resolution authorizing the City Manager to declare one
(1) surplus Police Patrol Automobile, one (1) surplus Police
Patrol Light Bar, and one (1) surplus Police Patrol Siren as
category "A" Stock and donate the same to "All Police Charities",
a nonprofit charitable organization.
BACKGROUND:
The General Services Administration Department has reviewed, with
the Law Department, the action of the City Commission on May 19,
1988, when Motion 88-480 was passed, and the actions taken are
being formalized in the attached proposed Resolution. "All
Police Charities", a non-profit charity organization, is in need
of a marked surplus police patrol vehicle with surplus lights and
surplus siren to represent the City of Miami Police Department in,
the Annual Police Charity Demo Derby and Stock Car Shield Race.
The attached Resolution formalizes the donation of the marked
surplus police patrol vehicle, surplus light bar and surplus
siren.
