ORDINANCE N0. 1052,7
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUND
ENTITLED: "HISTORIC PRESERVATION: SURVEY UPDATE,"
AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF SAME IN
THE AMOUNT OF $6,250, CONSISTING OF A $1,250 GRANT
FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA: DEPARTMENT OF STATE; AND
$5,000 FROM FISCAL YEAR 1988-89 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT: CITYWIDE HISTORIC PRESERVATION;
CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the United States Department of the Interior: National Park
Service administers the historic preservation program authorized by the
National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended; and
WHEREAS, an Historic Preservation Trust Fund has been established by the
State of Florida under authority of Section 267.0617, Florida Statutes, which
includes a part of the Federal funds apportioned annually to the State by the
United States Department of the Interior and other funds appropriated by the
State legislature for historic preservation activities; and
WHEREAS, the State of Florida: Department of State; Division of
Historical Resources has offered the City of Miami a $1,250 grant-in-aid to
update the Miami historic survey; and
WHEREAS, the Commission of the City of Miami, per Resolution No.
, accepted said grant-in-aid, and the City Manager executed the
grant agreement; and
WHEREAS, activities to be accomplished under this grant program include
obtaining current photographs of all Miami properties on the Dade County
Historic Survey; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Department will use existing staff to meet the local
match requirement of the grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA;
Section 1. The following Special Revenue Fund is hereby established and
resources are hereby appropriated as described herein:

APPROPRIATION: HISTORIC PRESERVATION: SURVEY UPDATE $6,250
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are
inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby
repealed.
Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase or
word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this
ordinance shall not be affected.

RECOMMENDATION
It is. respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached
ordinance establishing a new Special Revenue Fund entitled "Historic Preservation:
Survey Update" and appropriating funds for the same in the amount of $6,250,
consisting of a $1,250 grant from the State of Florida: Department of State and
$5,000 from Fiscal Year 1988-89 Community Development Block Grant: Citywide
Historic Preservation.
BACKGROUND
