Recommendation:
It is recommended that the City Commission reappoint two members,
Ms. Rose Gordon and Mr. Simon Ferro, as members of the City of
Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement
Trust Board of Trustees per the attached Resolution.
Background:

City of Miami Code section 4Q-227, (Ordinance No. 10002),
provides for the .appointment of a nine member board of trustees
to administer and manage the retirement plan known as the "City
of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement
Trust.." of these nine members, one is to be selected by the city
Manager, two by the general employees' (AFSCME bargaining unit)
and two by the sanitation employees' (SEA bargaining unit). Four
independent trustees are to be selected by the City Commission.
M r. Charlie 'Cox, President of AFBCME, has submitted for #
consideration, the name of. Ms. Rose Gordon, for reappointment to
the Pension Board ( see attached letter) . The 'term of office for
Ms. Gordon would begin on December 1, 1988 and expire on November

3U, 199U. Mr. Cox also submitted for consideration the name .of
Mr. Simon Ferro for reappointment to the Pension Board (See91
attached letter). Mr. Ferro's term of office would begin
December '1, 1988-and expire November 30, 1989.
