BACKGROUND s �3 The City of Miami has undergone.significant changes in the Fake r _t up of its employee base as well as the make-up of its management staff at all levels. As a result, a need for management and professionalism training has developed. Training will serve to • :{ re-establish the high degree of motivation and efforts toward achieving excellence required of City staff to perform -their i roles as "public servants." This training is also essential in order for the City to maintain a consistent level of.performance I by employees. S The City has previously utilized the services of Positive Thought F. Enterprises' president to conduct a series of. management — and -professionalism classes for the Departments of Computers, Solid r� -Waste, and Building and Zoning. Class participants rated these fF classes highly, and cited the instructors' day-to-day knowledge of the City and their personal experiences with management within the City, as primary reasons for these classes being, more than �s Just- management theory, but ,a management training class specific to the City of Miami government:.
