It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution authorizing the waiver, by four -firths (4/5)
affirmative vote of the members of the City Commission, after a
duly advertised Public Hearing, the prohibition against the
appearance of a former City employee before the City Commission
within two yearn after leaving City employment. As such, the
prohibition applies to Christopher G. Korge of Holland & Knight,
who last served as an Assistant City Attorney until June 24p
1988, and who has engaged in providing legal services since that
date and who now seeks to appear and represent clients in matters
coming before the City Commission for its consideration.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Public Works recognizes that Section 2-302 of.
the Code of the City of Miami provides that a former City
employee has a conflict of interest, if such former City employee _
appears before the City Commission concerning a business
transaction to be entered into between the City and a third party
within two (2) years alter such employee has left City service.
Section 2-304 of the Code of the City of Miami provides, however,
