BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; SECTION 1. An amount not to exceed $10,000 is hereby allocated from the Metro Dade Tourist Bed Taxi/in support of the 1989 National Conference of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) to be held in Miami, April 9-12, 1989. Odio ference, April 9-12, 1989 FROM: City Manager REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION ##' It is respectfully recommended that the attached proposed ; resolution be adopted allocating an amount not to exceed $10,000 from the Metro Dade Tourist Bed Tax, in support of the 1989 National Conference of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) to be held in Miami, April 9-12, 1989. BACKGROUND The City of Miami in conjunction with the Department of Conferences and Conventions and Metropolitan Dade County will be hosting the 1989 Conference for The American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), which is a National Professional Organization entrusted to . better government and excellence in public service. This organization has more than 16,000 society members in the United States and several hundred participants are from the local South Florida Chapter. This event will take place at the Miami ' Convention Center and the program consistsof a four day conference, also several visits by participants are planned to observe first hand the facilities and services provided in the Greater Miami , sad Y1' area. k1� K: It is our recommendation that the attached resolution be considered s for discussion and approval by the City Commission.
