A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $2,700 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, CONTINGENT FUND, TO COVER DOCKAGE AND MOORING FEES FOR CRUISE SHIPS AND OTHER VESSELS AS MAY BE MOORED IN SLIP 3, LOCATED BETWEEN BICENTENNIAL PARK AND THE FLORIDA EAST COAST RAILWAY (FEC) PROPERTY, IN CONNECTION WITH THE 1989 MIAMI GRAND PRIX TO BE CONDUCTED BY MIAMI MOTORSPORTS, INC. ON ( MARCH 4 AND 5, 1989; SUBJECT TO AND CONTINGENT UPON SUCH CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS AS MAY BE PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI. WHEREAS, the Miami Grand Prix attracts thousands of visitors and spectators to downtown Miami; and WHEREAS, large cruise vessels have become an added: attraction to said event and provide additional viewing areas for atendees when moored at the City's Slip 3, located between Bicentennial Park and the FEC Property; and WHEREAS, Slip 3 has 1800 linear feet of mooring space, for which the established mooring and dockage rate for transient �s vessels is $0.75 per linear foot; and A= WHERAS, through Miami Motorsports, Inc., the event sponsor, c: the 400-foot cruise ship Tropicana has reserved space at Slip 3 for the 1989 race and other ships are expected;- NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. An amount not to exceed $2700 is hereby ,. allocated from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, to cover the cost of dockage and mooring fees for cruise ships and other vessels as may be moored in Slip 3, located between "G= -F Bicentennial Park and the FEC Property, in connection with the C Z_ Miami Grand Prix, to be conducted by Miami Motorsports, Inc. on. i°�` March 4 and 5, 1989. r r' 7 r v CITY Co SI1 1T.
