HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-89-01031 ryp RESOLUTION N0.9103 . A RESOLUTION APPOINTING AN INDIVIDUAL TO T MIAMI RIVER COORDINATING COMMITTEE TO SERVE A 5 SPECIFIED TERM OF OFFICE. WHEREAS, Resolution No. 86-701, adopted on September 11, 1986, approved, in principle, a "Resolution of Understanding between the City of Miami and Dade County" which deals with local governmental policy concerning the Miami River; and WHEREAS, on September 2, 1986, the Board of County Commissioners of Dade County, Florida, approved substantially the same Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Miami, Dade County, and the State of Florida relating to the Miami River and its tributaries; and WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding created a committee to accomplish the purposes outlined therein; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The following individual is hereby reappointed to serve on the Miami River Coordinating Committee from January 5, 1989 through January 5, 1991: Huber Parsons, Jr. 799 Bickell Plaza, Suite 601 Miami_ Florida Section 2. Od l0 mZMftENCESt Committee PROM: City Manager ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION it Is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution reappointing Mr. Huber Parsons, Jr. to,serve as a member on the Miami River Coordinating Committee frbm January 5, 1989 through January 5, 1991. �r BACKGROUND:N The MIamI River Coordinating Committee was estabIIshed in 1986 pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding entered Into `betweeny the City of Miami and Metropolitan Dade County. The Commiateeis ows composed of eleven (11) members who are selected as foi,lone (1) by the City Manager; three (3) by the City°Commission, cne (1) by the Metropolitan Dade County Manager; three (3)_by the !. MetropoIItan Dade County Commission; one (1) staff member from the Florida Governor's Office; and two (2) persons appointed by the Florida Governor. At the present time, one vacancy exists due to the expiration of Mr. Huber Parsons, Jr.'s term.
