HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-89-0128RESOLUTION NO. 89-128 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF DIVERS DEN SOUTH FOR FURNISHING SCUBA DIVE EQUIPMENT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPECTION SERVICES AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $5,716.00;ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE FIRE BOND ACCOUNT NOS. 313230-289401-722 ($1,036.00) AND 313230-289401-850 ($4,680.00) FIRE RESCUE SPECIAL EQUIPMENT FY-89; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received November 16, 1988 for the furnishing of Scuba Dive Equipment for the Department of Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to seventeen (17) potential f r S f.. suppliers and two (2) bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase will be available from the Fire Bond Account Nos. 313230-289401-722 ($1,036.00) and 313230 289401-850 ($4,680.00) Fire Rescue Special Equipment FY-89; and FF WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services for the purpose of replacing older equipment removed from service due to diver safety concerns ti� F in August 1988, since then the Department has been utilizing E[ borrowed equipment from Metro -Dade Fire Department; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department _ of Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services recommend that the bid received from Divers Den South be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDAa,°y _ s MEETING `OF FEB 9 1989 _ N Na r� EMU!
