ORDINANCE NO. 1054
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 10521,
ADOPTED NOVEMBER 17, 1988, AS AMENDED, THE
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT APPROPRIATIONS
ORDINANCE, BY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION
FOR PROJECT NO. 331317 ENTITLED "JAPANESE
GARDEN RENOVATION" BY AN AMOUNT OF $6,100
FROM A CONTRIBUTION FROM THE RICOH
CORPORATION; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION
AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10521 on
November 17, 1988, establishing resources and appropriations for
implementation of capital improvements in the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance No. 10521 appropriated $530,000 for
Capital Project No. 331317 entitled "Japanese Garden Renovation";
and
WHEREAS, said appropriation includes a contribution from the
Ricoh Corporation in the amount of $330,0001 and
WHEREAS, due to the exchange rate of the Japanese yen at
the time of the Ricoh donation to the City, an additional amount
of $6,100 was contributed to the City for the exclusive use of
renovating the Japanese Garden;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 10521, adopted
November 17, 1988, as amended, is hereby amended in the following
particulars: 1/

remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged.

"Section 1. The herein appropriations are hereby made
for implementation of all municipal capital
improvements of the City of Miami, including new
capital improvement projects scheduled to begin during
fiscal year 1988-89. The herein appropriations which
are hereby designated by referenced to descriptive
project title and number also include appropriations
for previously approved scheduled projects as well as
reappropriations of prior fund appropriations. The
source of revenues to support the herein
appropriations is hereby identified by fund and
project with the project appropriations and revenues
therefor being set forth for seven program (I-VII)
areas, based upon use or functional category within
said areas, as follows:

Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as
they are inconsistent or in conflict with provisions of this
ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph,
clause, phrase or work of this ordinance is declared invalid, the
remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall become effective 30 days
after final reading and adoption hereof, pursuant to law.

ENCLOSURES:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached Ordinance increasing the capital project entitled "Japanese
Garden Renovation" in the amount of $6,100 from a contribution from
the Ricoh Corporation.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Development recommends the attached Ordinance be
adopted increasing the appropriation for the Japanese Garden
Renovation Capital Project No. 331317 by an amount of $6,100.
The Ricoh Corporation contributed $330,000 to the City for the
exclusive purpose of renovating the garden located on Watson Island.
Due to the exchange rate of the Japanese yen at the time the donation
was made, the contribution received by the City was $336,100.
It is recommended that the attached ordinance be adopted by the City
Commission on January 12, 1989 appropriating the additional funds
received to the Japanese Garden Renovation capital project.
