BUILDERS FOR THE FURNISHING OF DEMOLITION SERVICES FOR THE DEPARTMENTS OF BUILDING AND ZONING AND PARKS, RECREATION & PUBLIC FACILITIES AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF j $16,800.00- ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE PARKS: RECREATION & PUBLIC FACILITIES OPERATING BUDGET ACCOUNT CODE NO. 331303- 589901-3401 AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS SERVICE. WHEREAS, informal invitations to bid were mailed and four (4) bids were received by February 23, 1989 for Demolition Services of a three story CBS apartment building (Golden Arms) located at 2000 S.W. 24th Street at the request of the Departments of Parks, Recreation & Public Facilities and Building and Zoning; and WHEREAS, it is requested that formal bid process be waived due to the urgency in having this structure demolished as continuous complaints have been received from numerous members of the area association; and " WHEREAS, this building has long become an eyesore. Builders for furnishing Demolition Services to the Departments of Building and Zoning and Parks Recreation & Public Facilities at total proposed w• cost of $16,800.00 is hereby approved and accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Parks, Recreation & Public Facilities Operating Budget Account No. 331303-589901-340.
