A RESOLUTION.WITH ATTACHMENT, AUTHORIZING THE - CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AOREEMENT, IN x SU13STANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND LAURA LLERENA AND ASSOCIATES, INC. AND HERMINE E. RICKETTS, ARCHITECT, AS A JOINT VENTURE, FOR PROFESSIONAL DESIGN CONSULTANT SERVICES FOR THE "RICAN SQUARE PARK RENOVATIONS PROJECT, AT A FEE TO THE CONSULTANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $70,000; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 331053 OF THE SAME NAME. i a WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 10364, adopted January 14, 1988,the City of Miami created the capital improvement project entitled "African Square Park Renovations" and appropriated funds in the amount of $400,000 for its completion; and WHEREAS, said appropriations were increased to $600,000 by Ordinance No. 10521,adopted November 17, 1988; and ,a - WHEREAS, it was determined that said project would require s C professional architectural, landscape architectural, and r engineering services that could best be provided by an outside consultant; and WHEREAS, the City. Commission by Resolution No.: 87-556, ,a adopted June 6, 1987, designated said project -as,a Category.B } —v project, appointed a Certification Committee and a Chairman of the Selection Committee, and directed the City Manager. to Seek - the services of interested professionals to serve as the design'. consultant(s) for said project; and WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice,proposals were received -` on September 9, 1988 and duly evaluated by the Certification and �. f Selection Committees; and — WHEREAS, the recommendation of the Selection Committee Was �= F _ -- presented to the City Manager and then to the City Commission on ' November 3, 1988; and S i - - A �� RESOMMON to. Ricketts, —` Architect a joint venture, and has prepared the attached design consultant contract based upon said negotiations; and WHEREAS, said agreement calls for complete design services through the completion of construction on said project at a fee -- to the consultant of $70,000; }}i NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: — A Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement, in substantially the attached form between the City of Miami and Laura Llerena and Associates, Inc. and Hermine k — E. It shall be the obligation of the CONSULTANT to produce_::& design which may be constructed within the Project Budgetor any subsequent revision thereof approved by the CITY.
