WHEREAS, the City of Miami Commission is committed to the economic development and the expansion of Trade and ammerce in the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, the City Commission passed Resolution No. 87-923 authorizing the establishment of Small Business Development Pilot Program in Model City; 0 WHEREAS, Robert S. Berg, President, Sailonren, Inc., d/b/a Popeye's Fried Chicken, has defaulted on his Promissory Agreement with the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, the aforementioned loan recipient has received $24,335.25 of a $25,000 long from the Small Business Development Pilot Program; and WHEREAS, the loan recipient is now 120 days past due on his loan with the City of Miami; NOW, =REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the a= City Attorney to initiate appropriate legal proceedings and civil action t against Robert S. Berg, President, Sailermen, Inc. d/b/a Popeye's Fried Chicken to recover loan funds in the amount of $24,335.25 to said individual r•Y through the Model City Small Business Development Pilot Loan Program.
