MEASURES; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT
A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE HEREIN DESK
A, OFFICIALS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section I- The Federal Governunent is hereby urged to make
available to the Greater Miami area an amount equal to the approximate sum of
$70 million in federal funds which is being made available to the District of
Columbia for law enforcement and crime control measures.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a copy
of this Resolution to President George Bush; vice -President Dan Quayle; U.S.
Senate Majority Leader, Senator George Mitchell; Speaker of the U.S. House of
Representatives, Representative James Wright; Senator Robert Graham, Senator
Connie Mack, Representative Dante Fascell, Representative William Letmian and
Representative Claude Pepper.
Section 3. This Resolution shall beccane effective immediately
upon its adoption pursuant to law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of April , 1989.
