HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-89-0324J-89-349 3/10/89 6A RESOLUTION NO. f'`'IJ--e 'W.'.4 El A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING TIIE COMPLETED WORK OF MCO CONSTRUCTION, INCAT A TOTAL COST OF $47,800.00 FOR SOUTH DISTRICT POLICE SUB- STATION BUILDING DEHOLTTTON CIP PROJECT NO. 312008 AND AUTHORIZING A FI14AL PAYMENT OF $4,780.00 WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated November 24, 1987 between the City of Miami, Florida and MCO Construction, Inc. for SOUTH DISTRICT POLICE SUB -STATION BUILDING DEMOLITION C.I.P. Project No. 312008; and WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed by MCO Construction, Inc. and they have furnished the required documents certifying that all bills for labor and materials have been paid in full in connection with the aforesaid contract; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the completed work be accepted and final payment made to the contractor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The completed work performed by MCO Construction, Inc. for SOUTH DISTRICT POLICE SUB -STATION BUILDING DEMOLITION C.T.P. Project No. 312008 is hereby accepted at a total cost of $47,800.00. Section 2. The proper officials of the City of 14iami are hereby authorized to pay MCO Construction, Inc. a balance of $4,780.00 as full and final payment for all work performed and all materials furnished in connection with SOUTH DISTRICT POLICE SUB -STATION BUILDING DEMOLITION C.I.P. Odio REFERENCES: Resolution f o r Final Payment Manager ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution accepting the completed work performed by MCO Construction, Inc. at a total cost of $47,800.00 for SOUTH ' DISTRICT POLICE SUB -STATION BUILDING DEMOLITION C.I.P. Project No. -; 312008 and authorizing a final payment of $4,780.00. BACKGROUND: The Department of Public Works has determined that it is now in —'; order for the Commission to accept the completed work and authorize final payment, after all conditions are met for South District Police Sub -Station Building Demolition C.I.P. Project No. 312008. MCO Construction, Inc. has completed they project of demolishing seven (7) buildings and remove debris iron, site Sounded by 14. Flagler Street and Beacom Boulevard. The total payment to the contractor will be $5,000.O0 less than the original contract amount of $52,800.00 because not all of the Cash Allowance for Special Items was used.
