IL0573 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 10521, AS AMENDED, ADOPTED NOVEMBER 17, 1988, THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE, BY INCREASING THE PROJECT ENTITLED "FIRE RESCUE NEW APPARATUS ACQUISITION-FY189" PROJECT NO. 313229 IN THE AMOUNT OF $65,000; APPROPRIATING FUNDS IN SAID AMOUNT FOR SAID PROJECT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND REHABILITATIVE SERVICES GRANT; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10521 on November 17, 1988, appropriating funds for Capital Improvement Projects; and WHEREAS, the City Manager or his representative has applied for grants from the State of Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services under the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Matching Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the matching grants are to support the purchase of the pre -hospital activities, services and items associated as such; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami department of Fire, rescue and Inspection Services desires to Purchase one (1) ground transport vehicle consisting of an EMS Type III Paramedic Rescue Vehicle utilizing a matching grant of $65,000; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami has been designated eligible to be a recipient of these funds; and WHEREAS, the Capital Improvements Appropriations Ordinance includes the Project entitled "Fire Rescue New Apparatus Acquisition-FY189" Project No. 313229, to which should be added the said amount of $65,000 from the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services Grant; 10573 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance 10521, adopted November 17, 1988, as amended, is hereby further amended in the following particulars:1 "Section 1. The herein appropriations are hereby made for implementation of all municipal capital improvements of the City of Miami, including new capital improvement projects scheduled to begin during fiscal year 1988-89.. The herein appropriations which are hereby designated by reference to descriptive project title and number also include appropriations for previously approved scheduled projects as well as reappropriations of prior fund appropriations. The source of revenues to support the herein appropriations is hereby identified by fund and project with the project appropriations and revenues therefor being set forth for seven program (I-VII) areas based upon use or functional category within said areas, as follows: Total Appropriations ($ x 000) # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # II. Odio City Manager RECOMMENDATION: DATE: FILE: SUBJECT: Recommendation for Resolution; Acceptance of EMS Matching Grants, REFERENCES: & Companion Appropriations Ordinance ENCLOSURES: It is respectfully recommended that a resolution be passed authorizing the City Manager to accept two (2) grants from the State of Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services under the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Matching Grant Program, in the respective amounts of $65,000 and $26,539• And further, that first mentioned grant funding be appropriated by amendment to the Capital Improvements Appropriations Ordinance by increasing the Project entitled "Fire Rescue New Apparatus Acquisition - FY'89" Project No. 31322q in the amount of $65,000. BACKGROUND: The Department of Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services has been awarded two (2) matching grants for the purchase of one(1) EMS Type III Paramedic Rescue Vehicle and to hire one(1) part-time Accident and First Aid Resource Teacher. The new rescue vehicle is to be paid for under the $65,000 grant and is one of six vehicles authorized for purchase by the City Commission at the February 9th City Commission Meeting.
