Odio FROM : City Manager Members DATE : FED 2 d 1989 FILE : SUBJECT : Ordinance Amending Section 42-8 of City Code, Governing Fees fa Services REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: It is respectfully recommended that an Ordinance amending Section 42-8 of the City of Miami Code, governing the assessment of fees for special departmental services, be adopted. The Police Department charges enumerated fees for certain services provided to the public. These services include, but are not limited to, the duplication of reports, photographs, materials requested through public records requests and the compilation of data through computer printouts. In 1985 the Department adjusted its fees to comply with an opinion written by the Attorney General's Office, No. 85-19, dated February 28, 1985. These adjustments reflected the "actual cost of duplication" as defined in s119.07(1)(a), F.S.S. The ordinance specifying charges was, however, never amended to reflect the adjustments. It is therefore, respectfully recommended that the Ordinance amending Section 42-8, governing the assessment of fees for special departmental services, be adopted. yy 4 MIAMI REVIEW Published Daily except Saturday, Sunday and Legal Holidays Miami, Dade County, Florida.
