WHEREAS, on June 23, 1988, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 88-580, approving in principle, the establishment of an Asian Village ;rtc. Initiative by the City of Miami calling for the City's recognition of the presence within the City of a substantial number of residents with an Asian } ethnic background: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. A thirteen(13) member Asian Village Committee is hereby created for the purpose of promoting the development of the concept of an Asian Business and Cultural Community; to make recommendations to the City Commission to develop and plan for the implementation of the Asian Village concept in the Northeast area of the City on Biscayne Boulevard between Northeast 75th Street and 85th Street, and along Northeast 79th Street from Northeast 1st Avenue to Northeast loth Avenue, Miami, Florida. Section 2.
