AT A TOTAL COST OF $1,807,040.90 FOR MANOR HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE IV CIP PROJECT NO. 341119 AND AUTHORIZING A FINAL PAYMENT OF $174,763.95 WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated October 29, 1987 between the City of Miami, Florida and Miri Construction, Inc. for MANOR HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE IV C.I.P. Project No. 341119; and WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed by Miri Construction, Inc. and they have furnished the required documents certifying that all bills for labor and materials have been paid in full in connection with the aforesaid contract; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the completed work be accepted and final payment made to the contractor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA.- Section 1. The completed work performed by Miri Construction, Inc. for MANOR HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE IV C.I.P. Project No. 341119 is hereby accepted at a total cost of $1,807,040.90. Section 2. The proper officials of the City of Miami are hereby authorized to pay Miri Construction, Inc. a balance of $174,763.95 as full and final payment for all work performed and all materials furnished in connection with MANOR HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE IV C.I.P. Od a= City Manage ENCLOSURES: i- I— f— RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution accepting the completed work performed by Miri Construction, Inc. at a total cost of $1,807,040.90 for' MANOR HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE IN C.I.P. Project No. 341119 and authorizing a final payment of $174,763.95. BACKGROUND: �_ The Department of Public Works has determined that it is now in order for the Commission to accept the completed work and authorize final payment, after all conditions are met for Manor Highway Improvement - Phase IV C.I.P. Project No. 341119. Miri Construction, Inc. has completed the. project of constructing 3.4 miles of streets including: clearing and grading, new asphaltic pavement,. concrete curbs and/or gutters, concrete sidewalk, storm sewers and landscaping in area bounded by N.W. 12- 17 Avenues between N.W. 50-54 Streets. _ The total payment to the contractor will be $131,679.60 less than the original contract amount of $1,938,720.50 because not all of the Cash Allowance for Special Items was used.
