RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that a resolution be passed for
f the purchase of a TX-731C Ball Cap Transmitter, at a total cost
of approximately $1,320. Funding is to be from the Law
Enforcement Trust Fund, Project No. 690001.
BACKGROUND:
The Miami Police Department Special investigation Section
conducts undercover operations where officers are often times out
of the sight of the cover cars. Under these circumstances it is Ic
necessary, for officer safety, that the cover units be able to
hear what is transpiring, allowing them the ability to respond e
appropriately. The Ball Cap Transmitter is adapted for this
purpose and because of its concealability and positioning is
quite effective.
It is, therefore, recommended that the Resolution authorizing the
purchase of a TX-731C Ball Cap Transmitter, at a total cost of
approximately $1,320, funding to be from the Law Enforcement
Trust Fund, Project No. 690001, Index Code 290904-996, be
approved.
