RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION CODESIGNATING NORTHEAST 4TH
AVENUE FROM NORTHEAST 30TH STREET TO NORTHEAST
31ST STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS "THE VILLAGE
WAY"; REQUIRING VILLAGE SOUTH, INC. TO BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL COSTS INCURRED IN THE
CODESIGNATION SIGNAGE; FURTHER DIRECTING THE
CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS
RESOLUTION TO ALL AFFECTED GOVERNMENT
AGENCIES.
WHEREAS, the Village South, Inc. Is Dade County's largest
substance abuse treatment program; and
WHEREAS, they have served the community for nearly 20 years
providing an Important service in the treatment of the Indigent
population;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings set forth In the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and Incorporated herein as If fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. The Miami City Commission hereby codesignates
Northeast 4th Avenue between Northeast 30th Street and Northeast
31st Street, Miami, Florida, as "The Village Way", conditioned
upon payment in advance by the Vll:age South, Inc. of all costs
that are assessed by Metropolitan Dade County for the manufacture
—; and Installation of said codeslgnation signage.
Section 3. The City Clerk Is hereby directed to transmit a
copy of this Resolution to the United States Postal Authority,
the Traffic and Transportation Section of the Metropolitan Dade
County Public Works Department, the City of Miami Police

RECOMMENDATION:
It Is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached Resolution authorizing the Codeslgnation of N.E. 4
Avenue between N.E. 30 Street and N.E. 31 Street as "The Village
Way".
BACKGROUND
The Village South, Inc. Is Dade County's largest substance abuse
treatment program serving the Indigent population. They have
performed this service for nearly 20 years.
The Director of the Village South, Inc. Is requesting that the
City Commission codeslgnate N.E. 4 Avenue adjacent to their
facilities as "The Village Way".
