HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-89-0598A RESOLUTION NO. 4."a A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DONATION OF TEN (10) POLICE CONFISCATED BICYCLES TO THE BOYS CLUB OF MIAMI, INC., TO PRESENT THEM TO DESERVING CHILDREN DURING THE HOLIDAYS. WHEREAS, the Boys Club of Miami, Inc. is requesting the donation of ten (10) Police confiscated bicycles to present them to deserving children during the holidays; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Police Department comes into possession of a large quantity of bicycles each year which are routinely sold at public auction after an appropriate period of time; and WHEREAS, the Boys Club of Miami, Inc. qualifies under Florida State Statute 705 to receive donations of confiscated property and the City Charter permits the City to make such disposition; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The donation of ten (10) Police, confiscated bicycles to the Boys Club of Miami, Inc., to present them to deserving children during the holidays is hereby approved. Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption pursuant to law. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of July 1989. I ATT T XAVIER L.
