BACKGROUND The Department of Public Works has determined that there *exists an emergency n.eed to establish appropriations -for the project entitled "Miamarina - Fishermen's Pier 5". Preliminary estimates place the cost of the project at $1,531,200. There is a need to construct pier facilities for the commercial fishing fleet that operated out of Miamarina prior to the construction of Bayside. An agreement has been reached whereby the City will provide a facility for the fishermen's use in the Miamarina area, which pier will contain 35 full slips, and amenities including canopies. finger piers, booths, cutting tables, etc. This amendment is being presented so that the project can be established, and construction completed by October 1989. Funds are available from the Sunshine State Loan Bond Pool. Ordinance attached a] 1061.4' J-89-11 2/01/89 ORDINANCE NO.
