A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE LITTLE HAVANA
UNITED WAY KICKOFF EVENT, A DOMINO TOURNAMENT
TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE UNITED WAY IN
CONJUNCTION WITH SOUTHERN BELL AT DOMINO
PARK ON SEPTEMBER 15, 1989; AUTHORIZING THE
CLOSURE OF DESIGNATED STREETS TO THROUGH
VEHICULAR TRAFFIC, SUBJECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF
PERMITS BY THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND
FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPECTION SERVICES AND THE
REQUIREMENT THAT THE CITY WILL BE INSURED
AGAINST ANY POTENTIAL LIABILITY AND UPON
ORGANIZERS PAYING FOR ALL NECESSARY COSTS OF
CITY SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the United Way in conjunction with Southern Bel]
will conduct the Little Havana United Way kickoff event,
consisting of a domino tournament at Domino Park, on September
15, 1989; and
WHEREAS, certain streets must be closed to through vehicular
traffic to insure the safety of the participants and pedestrian,
attending this event;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CIT'.
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. In order to effectuate safe passage during th,
Little Havana United Way kickoff event, consisting of a domini
tournament at Domino Park, the following streets are hereb:
closed to through vehicular traffic on Friday, September 15, 198
from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.:
Southwest Fifteenth Avenue from Southwest Eight Street t
Southwest Ninth Street.
Included in the herein closure are all streets, avenues
alleys, ways and thoroughfares which intersect th
enumerated areas delineated in this Section.
Section 2. Such closing of streets is subject to State
approval and the issuance of permits by the Departments of Police
and Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services. Said permit from the

Department of Police is to be issued upon full approval of the
chief of Police after giving all duo consideration to the safetY
and traffic needs
of rosidentat buoinesseat and
religious
institutions in the
area for entering and crossing through said
arterials and upon the favorable exercise of the City
Manager's
judgement predicated
upon all factors set forth herein.
Section 3. Such
street closures are subject
to the
organizers obtaining
insurance requirements as mandated by the
City of Miami and
paying for all necessary costs
Of City
services.
Section 4. This
Resolution shall become
effective
immediately upon its
adoption pursuant to law.
