HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-89-0763RESOLUTION NO.9-_J763 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF VtYELLA COMPANY FOR THE RE -ROOFING OF THE SHENANDOAH PARK RECREATION BUILDING FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $6,475.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM 1988-89 CITY WIDE NEIGHBORHOOD PARK RENOVATIONS PROJECT NO. 331303 ACCOUNT CODE NO. 589301-880; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS SERVICE. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received June 28, 1989 for the Re -Roofing of the Shenandoah Park Recreation Building to the Department of General Services Administration; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 32 potential suppliers and 3 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this service are available from the 1988- 89 Operating Budget City Wide Neighborhood Park Renovations Project No. 331303 Account No. 589301-880; and WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of General Services Administration for the purpose of repairing a severely deteriorated roof and provide a safe facility for the leisure enjoyment of the Community; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of General Services Administration recommend that the bid received from Viyella Company be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section I. The June 28, 1989 bid of Viyella Company for the Re -Roofing of the Shenandoah Park Recreation Building to the Department of General Services Administration at total proposed cost of $6,475.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from 1988-89 Operating Budget City Wide Neighborhood Park Renovations Project No. 331303 Account Code No. 589301-880. The total cost for the project is estimated to be $6,475.00, which funds are available from the City-wide Neighborhood Park Renovations Program. BACKGROUND: The General Services Administration Department has analyzed the bids received pursuant to bid #88-89-118, for the re -roofing of the recreation building at Shenandoah Park. Three (3) bids were received from local companies, two (2) Hispanic and one (1) non - minority. Viyella Company (Hispanic), was the lowest responsive bid, at a cost of $6,475.00, and thus recommended for an award - of -bid. Funds are available from the FY'88-89 City-wide Neighborhood Park Renovations Program, as indicated below.
