RESOLUTION NO. 89-874,
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF OFFICE
FURNITURE FOR THE SOUTH DISTRICT POLICE
SUBSTATION UNDER AN EXISTING DADE COUNTY BID
NO. 10-72 FROM RICHARD PLUMMER CO. IN THE
AMOUNT OF $5,899.96, J. C. WHITE CO. IN THE
AMOUNT OF $27,052.52 AND CAMILO MUEBLES, INC.
IN THE AMOUNT OF $59,785.00 FOR THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF
$92,737.48; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM
THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 312008
ACCOUNT CODE NO. 299401-840; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF
PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS
FOR THIS EQUIPMENT.
WHEREAS, the Police Department is in the process of
furnishing the South District Substation as the final step prior
to commencing operations and would like to purchase this
furniture under a Dade County Bid No. 10-72 from The Richard
Plummer Co. in the amount of $5,899.96, J. C. White Co., in the
amount of $27,052.52 and Camilo Muebles, Inc. in the amount of
$59,785.00 for a total proposed amount of $92,737.48; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase will be available from the

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The purchase of furniture for the Police South
District Substation under an existing Dade County Bid No. 10-72
from the Richard Plummer Co. in the amount of $5,899.96, J. C.
White Co. in the amount of $27,052.52 and Camilo Muebles, Inc.,
in the amount of $59,785.00 at a total proposed cost of
$92,737.48 is hereby approved with funds therefor hereby
allocated from Capital Improvement Project No. 312008, Account
Code No. 299401-840.

Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue purchase orders
for this equipment.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption pursuant to law.

The Police Department is in the process of furnishing the South
District Substation as the final step prior to commencing
operations. Based on the review of specification, time
constraints, and the vendors available through Metro Dade County
a determination has been made to utilize Metro Dade County Bid
No. 10-72 in the procurement of this furniture. The department
is requesting that the award be split among three vendors
authorized under the Metro Dade County Bid. The Richard Plummer
Company provided the lowest bid on chairs and file cabinets in
the amount of $21,751.20, J.C. White provided the lowest bid on
tables, in the amount of $11,201.28, Camilo Muebles Inc.,
provided the lowest bid for desks, desk chairs, credenzas and
other office furniture, in the amount of $59,785.
Ms. Adrienne Macbeth was contacted reference to Minority
Participation and she concurs with the Department's
recommendation.
It is, therefore, recommended that an award of bid be made in the
amount of $92,737.48 to the above listed vendors. The
Department's specifications have been met, and the funding source
will be the Capital Improvement Bond Program, Project No. 312008,
Index Code 299401-840.
