RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE HOMECOMING PARADE
TO BE CONDUCTED BY MIAMI NORTHWESTERN SENIOR
HIGH SCHOOL ON NOVEMBER 4, 1989, AUTHORIZING
THE CLOSURE OF DESIGNATED STREETS TO THROUGH
VEHICULAR TRAFFIC; ESTABLISHING A TEMPORARY
PEDESTRIAN MALL SUBJECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF
PERMITS BY THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FIRE,
RESCUE AND INSPECTION SERVICES AND THE
REQUIREMENT THAT THE CITY WILL BE INSURED
AGAINST ANY POTENTIAL LIABILITY AND UPON
ORGANIZERS PAYING FOR ALL NECESSARY COSTS OF
CITY SERVICES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. In order to effectuate safe passage during the
Homecoming Parade to be conducted by Miami Northwestern Senior
High School the following streets are hereby closed to through
vehicular traffic on Saturday, November 4, 1989 as specified
belowr
7:'00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.:
Northwest Seventy -First Street
to Northwest Seven Avenue.
from Northwest Twelve Avenue
Northwest Seven Avenue from Northwest Seventy -First Street
to Northwest Sixty -Second Street.
Northwest.Sixty-Second Street from Northwest Seven Avenue to
alNorthwea 'Twelve:Avenue.
' Northwest Twelve Avenue from Sixty -Second Street to
Northwest Seventy -First Street.
Included in the herein closure are all streets, avenues,
alleys, ways and thoroughfares which intersect the

enumerated areas delineated in this Section.
Sectlon,29 Such closing of streets is subject to State
approval and issuance of permits by the Departments of Police and
g` Fire. Rescue and inspection Services. Said permit from the
Department of Police is to be issued upon full approval of the

Chief of police after giving all due consideration to the safety
and traffic needs of residents, businesses, and religious
institutions in the area for entering and crossing through said
arterials and upon the favorable exercise of the City Manager's
judgement predicated upon all factors set forth herein.
Section 3. Such street closures are subject to the
organizers obtaining insurance requirements as mandated by the
City of Miami and paying for all necessary costs of City
services.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

Commision meeting for this purpose of obtaining authorization to close
the following streets for a Miami Northwestern Senior High School Home
Coming Parade on November 4, 1989.
71 Street from 12th Avenue to 7th Avenue
7th Avenue from 71st Street to 62nd Street
62nd Street from 7th Avenue to 12th Avenue from 62nd Street
