FOR THE FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION OF FIVE (5) OVERHEAD GARAGE DOORS AT FIRE STATION #1 FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION/PROPERTY MAINTENANCE DIVISION AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $5,007.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ACCOUNT CODE #313018-289401-850; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS SERVICE. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received July 11, 1989 for the Furnishing and installation of Five (5) Overhead Garage Doors at Fire Station #1 to the Department of General Services Administration/Property Maintenance Division; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 17 potential suppliers and 4 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this service are available from the Capital Improvement Project Account Code #313018-289401-850; and WHEREAS, these Overhead Doors will be used by the Department of General Services Administration/Property Maintenance Division to be installed at Fire Station #1; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of General Services Administration recommend that the bid received from A A Sales & Service Co., Inc. be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The July 11, 1989 bid of A A Sales & Service Co., Inc. for the Furnishing and installation of Five (5) Overhead Garage Doors at Fire Station #1 to the Department of General Services Administration/Property Maintenance Division at total proposed cost of $5,007.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from Capital Improvement Project Account Code #313018-289401-850. F Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a Purchase Order for this service. Section 3. BACKGROUND: The General Services Administration Department has analyzed the bids received pursuant to bid #88-89-124, to furnish and install five (5) overhead garage doors at Fire Station No. 1. Five (5) bids were received from local companies, two (2) hispanic and three (3) non -minority, the lowest bidder did not meet specifications. The second lowest bidder, A A Sales & Service Co., Inc., was therefore the lowest most responsive bidder at a cost of $5,007.00. Funding for this purchase is available from the City of Miami Fire Department Capital Improvement Fund, as indicated below.
