RESOLUTION NO. 8_ 9-1049
A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE SUNSTREET FESTIVAL
AND PARADE TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE SUNSTREET
FESTIVAL COMMITTEE, INC. TO BE HELD DECEMBER 2
AND 3, 1989, PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSURE OF
DESIGNATED STREETS TO THROUGH VEHICULAR
TRAFFIC, ESTABLISHING A PEDESTRIAN MALL
SUBJECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY THE
DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FIRE, RESCUE AND
INSPECTION SERVICES; AUTHORIZING A TWO-DAY
PERMIT TO SELL BEER AND WINE IN CONNECTION
WITH SAID EVENT SUBJECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF ALL
PERMITS REQUIRED BY LAW; FURTHER ESTABLISHING
AN AREA PROHIBITED TO RETAIL PEDDLERS DURING
THE PERIOD OF THE EVENT; CONDITIONED UPON THE
REQUIREMENT THAT THE CITY WILL BE INSURED
AGAINST ANY POTENTIAL LIABILITY AND UPON
ORGANIZERS PAYING FOR ALL NECESSARY COSTS OF
CITY- SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT
BEYOND THOSE ALLOCATED BY RESOLUTION NO. 89-
921 ADOPTED OCTOBER 12, 1989.
WHEREAS, the
Sunstreet
Festival
Committee, Inc.
will
conduct the Sunstreet
Festival
to be held
on December
2 and 3,
1989; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami has provided $208000 to cover the
cost of City services for the event; and
WHEREAS, certain streets shall be closed to vehicular
traffic daring specified dates and hours to insure the safety of
the participants and pedestrians attending this event; and
WHEREAS, said organization has requested authorization to
sell beer and wine and that retail peddlers be

WHEREAS, the City of Miami has provided $20,000 to cover the
cost of City services for the event; and
WHEREAS, certain streets shall be closed to vehicular

section 1. In order to effectuate safe passage and
_ establish a temporary pedestrian mall during the Sunstreet
Festival and Parade to be conducted by the Sunstreet Festival
Committees, Iric., the following streets are hereby closed to
through vehicular traffic, as specified below: i
Saturday, December 2, 1989 from 8t00 A.M to 3:00 P.M-2
Northwest Seventy-first Street from Northwest Seventh Avenue
to Northwest Tenth Avenue.
Northwest Seventh Avenue from Northwest Seventy-first Street
to Northwest Fifty-six Street.
Northwest Fifty-six Street from Northwest Eighth Avenue 'to
Northwest Seventh Court.
Northwest Sixty-second Street from Northwest Tenth Avenue to
Northwest Tenth Court.
Sunday, -December 3, 1989, from 5:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.
Northwest Seventh Avenue from Northwest Fifty-fourth Street
to Northwest Sixty-second Street.
Included in the herein closure are all streets, avenues,
alleys, ways and thoroughfares which intersect the
enumerated areas delineated in this Section.

Such closing of streets is subject to State
