WHEREAS, appointments need to be made to the City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement 'Trust Board of Trustees and terms of office specified herein; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The following individuals are hereby reappointed as members of the City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust Board of Trustees to serve a full term of office which begins December 1, 1989 and expires November 30, 1991. Pension Board REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: It is recommended that the City Commission reappoint one elected trustee member and one independent trustee member as members of the City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust. as well as, select one name from the attached list submitted by the A.F.S.C.M.E., Local 1907 (Miami General Employees' Association, American Federations of State, County and Municipal Employees) to be appointed as a replacement member of the City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Board of Trustees per the attached resolution in accordance with Ordinance No. 10002. BACKGROUND: City of Miami Code Section 40-227 (Ordinance No. 10002), provides for the appointment of a nine member board of trustees to administer and manage the retirement plan known as the "City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust". Of these nine members, one is to be selected by the City Manager, two by the NOW general em loyees (AFSCME bargaining unit), and two by the sanitation employees (SEA bargaining unit). Four independent trustees are to be selected by the City Commission. Mr. David Sims, President of the SEA, has submitted for consideration, the names of Ms. Theresa Pollock and Mr. Ronald Thompkins for reappointment to the Pension Board (see. attached letter). The term of office would be as follows:. Theresa Pollock - 12/1/89 to 11/30/91 2 years Ronald Thompkins - 12/1/89 to 11/30/91 2 years 6� November 3, 1989 Page Two Mr. Charlie Cox, President of the A.F.S.C.M.E., has submitted -a list of six names (see copy attached) for consideration as a _ replacement of Mr. Simon Ferro who has resigned his membership on the- Pension Board. Mr. Ferro's term of office would have ended as of November 30, 1989.
