A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE JOSE MARTI PARADE
TO BE CONDUCTED BY BIPRISA ON JANUARY 26,
1990, PROVIDING POR THE CLOSURE OF DESIGNATED
STREETS TO THROUGH VEHICULAR TRAFFIC SUBJECT
TO THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY THE DEPARTMENTS
OF POLICE AND FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPECTION
SERVICES AND THE REQUIREMENT THAT THE CITY BE
INSURED AGAINST ANY POTENTIAL LIABILITY;
CONDITIONED UPON THE ORGANIZERS PAYING FOR
THE NECESSARY COST OF CITY SERVICES
ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. In order to effectuate safe passage during the
Jose Marti Parade to be conducted by BIPRISA, the following
streets are hereby closed to through vehicular traffic from 9:00
A. M. to 11:00 A. M. on Friday, January 26, 1990, as specified
below:
South on 8 Street from S.W. 15 Avenue to S.W. 5 Avenue.
3 S.W.-5 Avenue from 8 Street to S.W. 5 Street.

S.W. 5 Street from 5 Avenue to S.W. 4 Avenue.
S.W. 4 Avenue north to Jose Marti Park.
Included in the herein closure are all streets+
avenues,
ails s, ways and thorou hfares wh ch intersect the
- enumerated areas delineated In this -Section.
Section 2. Such closing of streets is subject
to State
approval and the issuance of permits by the Departments
of Police
and Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services. Said permit
from the
Department of Police after giving all due consideration to the
safety and traffic needs of residents, businesses, and
religious
institutions in the area for entering and crossing through; said
arterials and upon the favorable exercise of the City

Judgement predicated upon all factors set forte herein.

Section 3. Such street closures are hereby conditioned upon
the organizers obtaining insurance requirements as mandated by
the City of Miami and paying for all costs of City services
associated with said event.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

Hereby we wish to request the support of your office
and the members of the Commission, in favor of the
celebration of the XVI Schools Parade honoring the
137th. anniversary of Josd Marti"s birth, organized
by the Bilingual Private Schools Association BIPRISA.
If it is possible to present as a pocket item in your
next Commission meeting, in order to .doordinate the
activities on time, we provide you the following
details:
Concerning the XVI Schools Parade honoring
the 137th, anniversary of the Cuban Apostle
Josd Marti's birth to be conducted, as in
the past, by the Bilingual Private Schools
Association BIPRISA, providing for the
closure of designated streets to through
vehicular traffic, from SW 15th. Ave. on
8th. St, through Josd Marti Park, and
waiving the fees for the use of the services
of the Department of Parks & Recreation,
Police and Fire as in the past.
At the same time we would like to extend an official
invitation to you and the members of the Commission
to participate in this annual celebration.
