ORDINANCE No. 10679 _
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE HSTASLISHING A NEW
SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: " GRAND PRIX
1990", APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR ITS OPMIATION
IN THE AMOUNT OF $250,000 FROM THE STATE OF
FLORIDA: DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE; DIVISION OF
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT; CONTAINING A REPEALER
PROVISION AND SEVERAHYLITY CLAUSE: _ .—
WHEREAS, The State of Florida, Department of Commerce,
Division of Economic Development, has awarded the City of Miami a
pass -through grant in the amount Of $250,000 for promoting and
facilitating the Miami Grand Prix; and
WHEREAS, Miami Motorsports, Inc. annually .3tages the Miami
Grand rrix; and
WHEREAS, the City commission adopted Resolution No.
89-1146 on December 14, 1989 authorizing the City Manager to
execute a grant agreement with the State of Florida, Department
of Commerce, Division of Economic Development in the amount of
$250,000, providing for the funding of the pass -through grant for
the staging of the 1990 Grand Prix; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned resolution further authorized
the City Manager to execute a grant agreement with Miami
Motorsports, Inca to effectuate the State Grant;
NOW, THEREFORE , HE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMT., FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following Special Revenue Fund is hereby
established and resources are hereby appropriated as described
herein;
Fund Title: Grand Prix 1990
Resources: State of Florida, Department of Commerce,
Division of Economic Development,
$250,000
Appropriations: Grand Prix 1990 $250,000
:3ection 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as
they are inconsistent or in conflict with the previsions of this
ordinance are hereby repealed.

Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph,
clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid,
the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 4. This ordinance is hereby declared to be can
emergency measure on the grounds of urgent public need for the
preservation of peace, health, safety and property of the City of
Miami and upon the further grounds of the necessity to make the
required and necessary payments to its employees and officers,
payment of its debts, necessary, and required purchases of goods
and supplies and to generally carry on the functions and duties
of municipal affairs.
Section S. The requirement of reading this ordinance on two
separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of not less than
four -fifths of the members of the Commission.
