HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-10697J-89--1137 11/22/89 ORDINANCE NO. 010G97 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE 10619, ADOPTED JULY 27, 1989, BY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION TO THE SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED "JTPA TITLE I/OLDER WORKER (FY'90)" BY $8,300, THEREBY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR SAID SPECIAL REVENUE FUND TO $18,675; ALSO INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION TO THE SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED "JTPA TITLE IIA/NEIGHBORHOODS JOBS PROGRAM (FY'9.0)" BY $42,321, THEREBY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR SAID SPECIAL REVENUE FUND TO $366,834 FOR THE OPERATION OF THE NEIGHBORHOODS JOBS PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10619 at the July 27, 1989 City Commission Meeting, which appropriated $10,375 to a Special Revenue Fund entitled the "JTPA Title I/Older Worker (FY'90)" and $324,513 to a Special Revenue Fund entitled the "Neighborhoods Jobs Program (FY'90)" for the operation of the Neighborhoods Jobs Program; and WHEREAS, the South Florida Employment and Training Consortium increased the allocation to the Older Worker Program by $8,300, from $10,375 to $18,675; and WHEREAS, the South Florida Employment and Training Consortium increased the allocation to the Neighborhoods Jobs Program by $42,321, from $324,513 to $366,834, of which $22,834 of the increase represents an incentive award to the City for finding employment for "hard to place" participants and $19,487 is an increase to the original allocation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: 010GS? Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the preamble to this Ordinance are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Section 1 of. Ordinance No. 10619, adopted July 27, 1989, is hereby amended in the following particulars:l/ "Section 1. Odio City Manager RECOMMENDATION Members DATE: NOV i joag FILE: SUBJECT: Ordinance Amending Ordinance 10619 REFERENCES: City Commission Agenda December 7, 1969 ENCLOSURES: One (1) Ordinance It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached ordinance which amends Section 1 of Ordinance 10619 by increasing t-Iie appropriation to the Special Revenue Fund entitled "JTPA TITLE I/OLDER WORKER (FY'90)" by $8,300, thereby increasing said Special Revenue Fund to $18,675 and also increases the appropriation to the Special Revenue Fund entitled "JTPA TITLE IIA/NEIGHBORHOODS JOBS PROGRAM (FY'90)" by $42,321, thereby increasing said Special Revenue Fund to $366,834 for the operation of the Neighborhoods Jobs Program. BACKGROUND The Department of Community Development has been advised by the SFETC that it has been allocated an additional $8,300 to operate its JTPA Title I Older Worker program and an additional $19,487 to operate the JTPA Title IIA Neighborhoods Jobs program. These increases bring the total allocation for the Older Worker Program to $18,675 and the Neighborhoods Jobs Program to $344,000. In addition to the aforementioned increase, the Neighborhoods Jobs Program under Title- IIA will also receive an incentive award in the amount of $22,834. The incentive allocation is awarded on the basis of the City's success in finding employment for participants identified as "difficult to place" by the SFETC. The proposed ordinance amends Section 1 of Ordinance 10619 by increasing the appropriation to the Special Revenue Fund entitled "JTPA TITLE I/OLDER WORKER (FY'90)" by $8,300, thereby increasing said Special Revenue Fund to $18,675 and also increases the appropriation to the Special Revenue Fund entitled "JTPA TITLE IIA/NEIGHBORHOODS JOBS PROGRAM (FY'90)" by $42,321, 'thereby increasing said Special Revenue Fund to $366,834 for the operation of the Neighborhoods Jobs Program.
