HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-90-00561/11/90 J-90-106 RESOLUTION NO. 90-00 6 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE $9,000 WORTH OF TICKETS, SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS, FOR THE 8TH NATIONAL CUBAN MUNICIPALITIES FAIR TO BE CONDUCTED BY CUBAN MUNICIPALITIES FAIR CORPORATION ON APRIL 5-8, 1990 TO BE DISTRIBUTED AMONG INNER CITY CHILDREN. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to purchase $9,000 worth of tickets, subject to the availability of funds, for the 8th National Cuban Municipalities Fair to be conducted by the Cuban Municipalities Fair Corporation on April 5-8, 1990, to be distributed among inner city children. City Commissioners City Hall 1500 Panamerican Drive 4iami, Florida 33133 Dear Mayor and City Commissioners: 'he "8th National Fair of the Cuban Municipalities in E�cile" has been scheduled to take place from April 5 to the 9th, 1990, at the parking lot adjacent to the Flagler Dog Track (N.W. 7th Street at 37th Avenue), and in order to proceed with the organization of this event, we,hereby, request your approval for the use of such premises and that this event not be counted as one of the two alloted events per site per year as specified in Ordenance 9500 regarding this type of activities. The schedule for the "Fair" is as follows: Thursday, April 5th: from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, April 6th: from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, April 7th, from 2 p.m. to 12 midnite Sunday, April 8th, from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. We would also appreciate your cooperation in providing us with the ne- cessary permit for the installation of 30 booths in the site of the fair- grounds, including the approvalof the Zoning Board for this purpose. As you are aware, the purpose of this event is to expose the folklore, traditions and culture of our motherland, and to promote a warmer rela- tionship with other ethnic groups of out c--octm mitt'. As in the past, we sincerely appreciate the dedicated assistance of the City Commission and the City Manager's office. Your cooperation has been a big help in the organization of the past events.
