WHEREAS, Charter Section 36 prouides that three members of the City's Civil Service Hoard be appointed by the City Commission: and WHEREAS, the terms of the current three members expire on January 11, 1.990: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. ENCLOSURES It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution appointing three (3) public members to the Civil Service Board, commencing January 12, 1990 for a term to expire on January 9, 1992. BACKGROUND The term of office for the current three (3) public Civil Service Board members expires January 11, 1990. (Resolution No. 67-1117.) The regular meeting of the Civil Service Board for the month of January are scheduled for January 9 and 23, 1990. To ensure continuity in the seating of the new Board, it becomes essential that the appointments be made at the meeting of January 11, as it is the expiration date of the current Board members and would not adversely affect the convening of the meeting of January 23.
